UA Center to Host Suicide Assessment Training for College Mental Health Professionals

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Nearly 130 college mental health colleagues from Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Louisiana will be on The University of Alabama campus Friday, Sept. 11 for the Assessment and Management of Suicide Risk Training conference.

The event is hosted by the UA Counseling Center and sponsored by the Jed Foundation.

According to Dr. Lee Keyes, executive director of the UA counseling center, this AMSR Training event represents the first opportunity for college mental health professionals in this region to acquire competencies in this complex area of clinical work with students.
