TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity and Phi Mu Sorority at The University of Alabama will be presenting the second annual “Get on the Ball” for Children’s Miracle Network event on campus from April 13-18.
Throughout the week, members of ZBT and Phi Mu will roll a 6-foot (in diameter) ball across campus, asking people to sign their name in support of Children’s Miracle Network. For each signature, local businesses will donate money to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the locally sponsored Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
On April 13 at 1 p.m., ZBT and Phi Mu will host a kickoff event on the Quad where well-known Alabamians including Kenny Stabler will be the first to “Get on the Ball” and sign their names.
“This is a great way for us to raise awareness and funds for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network,” said Adam Diamond, ZBT philanthropy chair. “We raised more than $4,000 last year and we hope to raise even more money this year,” he said.
According to Diamond, more than 3,000 people signed the ball last year.
Children’s Miracle Network is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for awareness of children’s hospitals. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is the local Children’s Miracle Network participating hospital for the Birmingham and Tuscaloosa metro areas.
