UA Spring Commencement Ceremonies Scheduled for May 9

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama will hold its spring commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 9 in Coleman Coliseum on the UA campus.

Two University-wide commencement ceremonies will be held this year, at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., to award degrees. Doctoral recipients, education specialists and master’s degree candidates participate with their divisions.

At the 9 a.m. ceremony, the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Human Environmental Sciences and the School of Social Work will award their degrees.

At 1:30 p.m., degrees will be conferred in the Colleges of Education, Nursing, Communication & Information Sciences, and Commerce and Business Administration.

Saturday’s ceremonies will be broadcast live over the Internet. The webcast will be archived on UA’s Web site, www.ua.edu, and will be available for viewing until May 31.

The School of Law will have its ceremonies at 5:30 p.m. U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby will be the featured speaker.
