Baby TALK Founder to Speak at UA

Claudia Quigg, founder and executive director of “Baby TALK,” a community engagement program building parent-infant relationships, will speak Thursday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Child Development Research Center on The University of Alabama campus.

UA Engineering Professor Named Fellow by American Society of Civil Engineers

The American Society of Civil Engineers recently honored Dr. Ken Fridley, professor and department head of civil, construction and environmental engineering at The University of Alabama, with election to the grade of fellow.

UA’s Dance Alabama! Puts the Rhythm in Your Feet

The University of Alabama’s department of theatre and dance presents the student choreographed “Dance Alabama!” fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30—Thursday, Oct. 2 and at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in Morgan Auditorium on Colonial Drive in the UA Theatre District.

Alabama Business Hall of Fame to Induct Five New Members

Five of the state’s leading business and civic leaders will be inducted into the Alabama Business Hall of Fame Friday, Oct. 10 at a black-tie dinner at the Bryant Conference Center on The University of Alabama campus.

The University of Alabama Community Service Center is giving students the opportunity to participate in an Alternative Winter Break in the Costa Rica Rain Forest to take part in a service-learning project Dec. 28-Jan. 6.

Award-Winning Glassblower Brings Together Creativity and Science at UA

When scientific glassware breaks at The University of Alabama, it doesn’t go far to be repaired. Richard Smith, manager of UA’s Glassblowing Facility, has been repairing and making glassware on campus for 18 years.
