TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Team members from The University of Alabama Creative Campus arts initiative will travel to Auburn University on Monday, Nov. 13 to begin collaboration efforts with art outreach and public policy making.
The group will meet with representatives from the areas of music, humanities, the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art and Biggin Hall Art Gallery.
“If we combine efforts with Auburn, we can have a great impact on this state,” said Dr. Scott Bridges, Creative Campus director. “[Creative Campus] wants to look at Auburn’s community planning and art outreach programs in particular.”
The UA Creative Campus, Creative Community Initiative is an unprecedented student group that will focus on broadening the scope and deepening the experience of the arts and cultural opportunities on the UA campus and in the Tuscaloosa community.
Five student-led departments have been established to accomplish this mission: Creative Campus, Creative Community, Creative Education, Creative Economy and Creative Leadership.
Under the auspices of UA’s Office of Academic Affairs, Creative Campus seeks to build synergy though collaboration.
