Domestic Violence Law Clinic Opens at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — A new Domestic Violence Law Clinic has opened at The University of Alabama School of Law. The clinic provides free legal assistance to victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault in the West Alabama counties of Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens and Tuscaloosa.

Attorneys in the Domestic Violence Law Clinic can provide legal assistance on protection from abuse, family law, housing, employment or other legal matters as needed to assist victims escaping domestic violence.

Victims of domestic violence can make an appointment to speak with an attorney in the Domestic Violence Law Clinic by calling 205/348-7921.

The new legal clinic is funded by a federal grant that Sen. Richard Shelby was instrumental in securing. The grant will be used to support operations of the Domestic Violence Law Clinic, including hiring personnel, purchasing equipment and training.
