The University of Alabama Crossroads Community Center recently showcased a photographic mural created by UA students in the 100 Lenses Project. Disposable cameras were given to 100 UA students (from various backgrounds and campus affiliations) and used by the students to take honest pictures representing campus life as they saw it. The pictures were developed at no cost, and were selected and artistically placed on a large mural that will travel around campus. The project used what is known as the “photo voice method” using photographs taken by amateurs to visually depict their daily experiences. The UA Crossroads Community Center provides campus leadership and oversight in the areas of cultural programming and intercultural education.
