Spring Break 2024: Campus Hours  

Spring break begins at 5 p.m. Friday, March 8. Campus resumes normal operations Monday, March 18. While most offices and departments follow the UA schedule, some have reduced hours. Information may change, so check individual websites for the most current information.  

Adjusted Campus Hours

Bama Dining

Friday, March 8, all dining locations will close by 5 p.m.    

Starbucks on University Boulevard will be the only location open the entire break, open Monday through Saturday 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Starbucks on Bryant Drive will be open Saturday, March 9, and Sunday, March 10, and then will open again 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16.

Sunday, March 17, Lakeside will open at 10:30 a.m., and the following retail locations will open also: 

  • Mary B’s in Burke, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. 
  • Julia’s Market, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. 
  • Raising Cane’s in Paty Hall, 4-9 p.m. 
  • Starbucks on University Boulevard and Bryant Drive will resume normal hours and stay open until 8:30 p.m. daily. 

Campus Mail

The Passport office will close at noon March 8 and retail sales at the Campus Mail Service Center in the Student Center will end at noon. Campus Mail must receive outgoing mail and packages no later than 2 p.m. March 8 to go out before spring break.  

Campus Mail and the Passport Acceptance Facility will then be closed March 11-15; no departmental or student mail services will be available.  

Transportation Services

Automotive Services will close during spring break. In case of a breakdown, contact the call center at 205-348-6001. The Motorist Assistance Program will be available for students, faculty or staff who are on campus during spring break and experience a flat tire or dead battery. Reach MAP at 205-348-0121. 

Crimson Ride will cease operations at midnight March 8 and resume normal operations at 7 a.m., March 18. 

Residential students may leave their vehicles in the area where they are zoned. Overnight parking is not allowed in any commuter zones. Commuter students who need to leave vehicles on campus over spring break should contact uapark@ua.edu

University Libraries

Hours for Bruno, Gorgas and Rodgers libraries and Hoole Special Collections are posted online.

University Medical Center

University Medical Center Main Tuscaloosa will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. March 11-15. There will be no evening clinic and the Faculty/Staff Clinic will be closed.

University Museums

Hours for the Alabama Museum of Natural History, Bryant Museum, Gorgas House, Moundville Archaeological Park and Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum are posted online.  

University Recreation

Hours for all University Recreation facilities and the membership office are listed online

The Supe Store 

The Student Center and Town Center locations will be closed.

The Corner location will have adjusted hours.

  • Saturday, March 9: 10 a.m.-2 p.m. 
  • Sunday, March 10: 1-5 p.m. 
  • Friday, March 15: 2-6 p.m. 
  • Saturday, March 16: 3-7 p.m. 
  • Sunday, March 17: 9 a.m.-1 p.m. 

Women and Gender Resource Center

From 5:15 p.m. Friday, March 8, until 8 a.m. Monday, March 18, there will be a victim advocate on-call 24/7, accessible by calling UAPD at 205-348-5454
