TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Program in Creative Writing will sponsor a two-week summer institute for high school students interested in honing their writing skills.
The Creative Writing Club Summer Institute will meet in UA’s Morgan Hall in the afternoons June 5-16, with a final public reading and release of a student anthology on the last day.
The Summer Institute will feature writing workshops in fiction, poetry and nonfiction; small groups with experienced graduate student teachers from CWC’s spring after-school program; written and verbal feedback on student writing; readings by local writers; and electives on a variety of writing-related topics from flash animation poetry to paper making.
Tuition is $150 and need-based scholarships are available.
