Hoole Special Collections Library to be Featured in Brown Bag Lecture

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — As a part of the Brown Bag series, The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center is sponsoring the event, “What’s Cool at Hoole, A Virtual Tour of Resources at the Special Collections Library for Women” on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at noon in 305 Ferguson Center.

Jessica Lacher-Feldman, public and outreach services coordinator and assistant professor, will discuss highlights from treasures of the W.S. Hoole Special Collections Library housed at UA.

The Hoole Library is one of the premier archival institutions in the state of Alabama and holds thousands of rare books, manuscripts and numerous other materials.

Lacher-Feldman will emphasize the holdings relating to women’s history and will discuss what makes Special Collections ‘special’ and different from other libraries. She will also demonstrate the cutting edge digital project, Publishers’ Bindings Online, 1815-1930: The Art of Books, a collaborative digital project with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

All members of the campus and community are invited and encouraged to bring a sack lunch as part of the WRC Brown Bag series. Everyone attending will receive a PBO calendar and bookmark.
