UA Women’s Resource Center Offers Discussion and Support Group for Single Moms

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center is sponsoring “Empower Lunches: A Support Group for Single Moms” open to the University community.

The group will meet in 322 Russell Student Health Center every other Thursday from noon-1 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch.

The schedule and topics for Empower Lunches include:

  • Sept. 8 – How to Balance Work, School, Kids and Still Have Time to Yourself
  • Sept. 22 – Coping with Feelings of Grief, Rage and Loneliness While Being a Good Parent
  • Oct. 6 – Letting Go of the Idea that You Have to Make Up for the Absence of the Other Parent
  • Oct. 20 – Overcoming Feelings of Isolation
  • Nov. 3 – Discovering Your Inner Strengths
  • Nov.17 – Community Resources for Single Parents
  • Dec. 1 – Disciplining your Child as a Single Parent
  • Dec. 15 – Dating as a Single Parent
