EveryWoman Book Club at UA to Meet July 12

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama’s EveryWoman Book Club will meet to discuss “The Strange History of Suzanne LaFleshe: And Other Stories of Women and Fatness” by Susan Koppelman, July 12 at 6 p.m. at Crimson Café.

According to Amazon.com, “Strange History” is a daring new anthology of short stories with the theme of women and fatness, edited by the award-winning scholar Susan Koppelman. Spanning from the 1890s through the 1990s, this collection explores the many psychological and emotional tensions in women’s relationships to and perceptions of their physical selves.

The Everywoman Book Club, which meets once a month, is a book club comprised of women from the University and Tuscaloosa communities that meets to discuss books written by and about women.
