Alabama Online High School, Based at UA, Receives SACS/CITA Accreditation

The Alabama Online High School (AOHS) has been awarded accreditation as a Distance Education School by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA). The announcement was made during SACS’ annual meeting held recently in Nashville, Tenn.

Dr. Joe Morton, newly-named interim superintendent for the Alabama Board of Education, will be on The University of Alabama campus Friday, Feb. 6 to make a presentation to the University of Alabama Superintendents Academy (UASA). This will be one of the first public addresses by Morton since being named interim superintendent in January after Ed Richardson stepped down to become interim president of Auburn University.
