The University of Alabama’s Center for Creative Media has partnered with the State Legislative Leadership Foundation to develop a symposium on e-government, “Leadership at Your Fingertips: Legislative Politics in the Information Age.” The symposium will take place Oct. 30 – Nov. 1 in Point Clear.

Dr. Richard C. Bradt has been appointed as the Alton N. Scott Professor at The University of Alabama College of Engineering for his excellence in research. The Alton N. Scott Professorship was established in 2002 through an $8 million endowment funded by Alton N. Scott.
U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist will present the Albritton Lecture at The University of Alabama School of Law on Friday, Oct. 24, at 11:30 a.m. Rehnquist will speak in the Law School’s lecture hall, room 187-188 of the Law Center.
The Women’s Resource Center will present “Crimes Against Nature” on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Ferguson Center Theatre. The show, also sponsored by the Office of Student Judicial Affairs, Men Against Violence, Students for Gender Justice and the Healthy Campus Initiative, is part of Character Counts week at UA. Admission to the show is free and open to the public.
The University of Alabama’s astronomy department will hold a free public sky viewing of nebulae and star clusters at Moundville Archaeological Park on Friday, Oct. 24, from 7-10 p.m.
