UA Earns More Emmys, CASE Awards

The University of Alabama racked up more trophies during the spring award season — this time for its communications, advertising and production endeavors.

The University of Alabama’s Center for Public Television and the Division of Strategic Communications were recently awarded Southeast Emmy Awards.  

The Southeast Emmys is a regional chapter within the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences organization and includes entrants from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina. 

The University of Alabama earned 2024 Southeast Emmy Awards in the following categories:

Magazine Program – Single Program: Doff Procter – Class of 2023
Division of Strategic Communications

The video, which served as a congratulatory message to the graduating class of 2023, featured the narration of Doff Procter, who has been the voice of UA commencement since 1995.

Environmental/Science – Short Form Content: Beyond the Surface
Center for Public Television

This short video explores the importance of fungi in the ecosystem through the lens of foragers, mycologists and vendors.

Lifestyle – Short Form Content: Local Dairy – A Family Endeavor

Follow a day in the life on the Junkin farm as they continue their 100-year family legacy as local dairy farmers.

Two other entries from the Center for Public Television were also nominated for Emmys – The World is Your Oyster (Magazine Program – Single Program) and The Ice Cream Experts (Human Interest – News – Single Shift).

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education’s annual Circle of Excellence Awards recognize outstanding work in advancement services, alumni relations, communications, fundraising and marketing from CASE member colleges, universities, independent schools and their affiliated nonprofits around the world.
