Doster Café, a student operated and managed restaurant at The University of Alabama, will be participating with thousands of restaurants across the United States for “Dine for America” Oct. 5 to raise funds to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina.
On Wednesday, Oct. 12, quarters will be taped all across The University of Alabama Quad in a campus event raising funds to help hurricane victims.
Beginning two hours before kickoff of select home football games, The University of Alabama will offer Game Day University where UA faculty members will give interesting presentations to alumni and fans at the Bryant Conference Center.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, The University of Alabama Women’s Resource Center is presenting the play “Womenfolks” Oct. 7-8 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Theater.
Dr. Paul Hubbert, executive secretary of the Alabama Education Association, will travel to Tuscaloosa Friday, Oct. 14 to address the fall meeting of The University of Alabama Retirees Association. Hubbert will speak to the group at 10 a.m. at the FOCUS Building, 1620 6th Street in downtown Tuscaloosa.
The University of Alabama’s Moundville Archaeological Park, and scores of volunteers, will host the 17-year-old Moundville Native American Festival Oct. 5-8.
The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art will present a survey of 42 works from the “Paul R. Jones Collection: Looking Up” from Oct. 6 – Nov. 20 in 103 Garland Hall at The University of Alabama.
The University of Alabama, along with Stillman College and Shelton State Community College, will host the Realizing the Dream-Martin Luther King Jr. 2005 Distinguished Lecture Series featuring guest speaker Dr. K.P.S. Kamath.
