Dr. William W. Freehling, one of America’s most distinguished historians of the Old South and the era of the American Civil War, will give a public talk at The University of Alabama Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 4 p.m. in the Henry Jacobs Reading area in Gorgas Library.
Dr. Salvador Larrúa, a Cuban historian and economist, will speak on the anticipated transition in Cuba in the post-Fidel Castro period and recapturing the historical memory in Cuba, as a guest of The University of Alabama department of history, its Program in Latin American and Hispanic Studies and the Emeritus Committee on International Strategic Studies.
Dr. Todd Savitt, medical historian and ethicist, and Dr. Clifton Meador, medical reformer and bestselling author, will be the featured presenters at the fourth annual Susan and Gaylon McCollough Medical Scholars Forum Feb. 3-4 on The University of Alabama campus.
