UA 2007-2008 Celebrity Series Continues with Pianist Drew Mays

Dr. Drew Mays performs cataract surgery by day and Beethoven’s Waldstein Sonata by night. He will perform Jan.12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Moody Concert Hall as part of The University of Alabama’s School of Music’s continuing Celebrity Series.

Alabama Launchpad 2008 Contestants Compete for $175,000 in Prizes

The annual statewide Alabama Launchpad business plan competition for technology and high-growth ideas has attracted 41 teams to compete in its second season. The University of Alabama has 12 participating teams, the most of any institution.

Legislators to Tour UA Autism Research Clinic, Preschool

As the number of diagnoses increase, autism continues to be a major concern for Alabama lawmakers and faculty at The University of Alabama. A legislative tour of UA’s Autism Spectrum Disorders Research Clinic and Speech and Hearing Center’s preschool classroom is planned for Tuesday, Dec. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch.

UA’s Everywoman Book Club to Discuss “The Painted Drum”
