The 19th annual Sakura (cherry blossom) Festival, a celebration of Japanese culture and friendship, is scheduled for the month of March. The festival provides an opportunity to experience Japanese culture through lectures, exhibits, demonstrations, a Haiku contest and other activities.
Frank Uryasz, former NCAA “Steroid Czar” and founder and president of the National Center for Drug Free Sport, will present “Fact and Fiction: Steroids, Nutrional Supplements and the Evolution to Drug-Free Sport” Monday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m., in 223 Little Hall on The University of Alabama campus.

The University of Alabama’s department of theatre and dance proudly presents the regional premiere of “The Hypochondriac,” a musical comedy based on Moliére’s “The Imaginary Invalid,” with music and lyrics by UA Theatre and Dance program director Raphael Crystal. The production will be presented in the Allen Bales Theatre in the UA Theatre District, Feb. 22-26 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 27 at 2 p.m.

The University of Alabama will present soloist Shouze Ma who will perform with the Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre at Morgan Hall Auditorium on Feb. 22-25. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. in Morgan Auditorium in UA’s Theatre District.
