The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art at The University of Alabama surveys the contemporary painting of nine regional artists with the exhibition “New Currents in Regional Painting.” The exhibition opens March 3 with a reception from 6-8 p.m. at the gallery.

The 19th annual Sakura (cherry blossom) Festival, a celebration of Japanese culture and friendship, is scheduled for the month of March. The festival provides an opportunity to experience Japanese culture through lectures, exhibits, demonstrations, a Haiku contest and other activities.
