UA’s University Supply Store to Host ‘Alabama Connections’ Book Fair

In celebration of The University of Alabama’s Homecoming, the University Supply Store-Ferguson Center will host “Alabama Connections” on Friday, Oct. 31. “Alabama Connections” is an informal book fair featuring books by UA and other local authors as well as books about the University. The fair will take place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the first floor lobby of Ferguson Center and in the University Supply Store at Ferguson Center.

High School Students Invited to UA Information Session

The University of Alabama will be holding an information session at Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa on Monday, Nov. 3 from 6-7:30 p.m. for all area high school students interested in attending UA.

MIT Professor to Present ‘Imagining Evil’ as Part of Philosophy Today Lecture Series at UA

Dr. Stephen Yablo, professor of linguistics and philosophy at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will present his lecture “Imagining Evil” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 in room 110 of the Alabama Institute for Manufacturing Excellence building, known as AIME, on The University of Alabama campus.

Expert on Health Communication and Literacy to Deliver Lecture as Part of Pfizer Visiting Professorship at UA

Dr. Barry D. Weiss, the Pfizer Visiting Professor in Health Literacy and Clear Health Communications, will speak on “Health Literacy: The Hidden Risk Factor” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Lecture Halls A-C at The University of Alabama’s Child Development Research Center.

Is He in it for Love or Money? ‘The Heiress’ Answers that Question Nov. 4-9 at UA’s Gallaway Theatre

The University of Alabama’s department of theatre and dance presents “The Heiress,” a famous story about the fortunes of love, Nov. 4-9 in the Gallaway Theatre on Stadium Drive in the UA Theatre District. Shows are 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Three renowned communication and information leaders will be inducted into The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Hall of Fame Thursday, Nov. 6. The induction ceremonies will be at the NorthRiver Yacht Club.
