UA’s RISE Center Begins New Playgroup

The RISE Center, housed in the Stallings Center, is so popular that Director Andi Gillen and her staff are unable to serve all the special-needs children whose parents request entry – a waiting list has developed. So, the Center has developed a new program, the RISE and SHINE Playgroup. The group will have many of the activities RISE students experience during the day, only in a shorter time span – an hour and a half twice a month.

“Buy for RISE,” a charity sale and silent auction, will raise money for The University of Alabama’s RISE Center Friday, Aug. 26, and Saturday, Aug. 27, at the center, 600 Johnny Stallings Drive, across from University Medical Center.
