Sale to Benefit UA’s RISE Center

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — “Buy for RISE,” a charity sale and silent auction, will raise money for The University of Alabama’s RISE Center Friday, Aug. 26, and Saturday, Aug. 27, at the center, 600 Johnny Stallings Drive, across from University Medical Center.

The fundraiser draws discounted merchandise from local retailers. Prices are 75 percent off Friday and 90 percent off Saturday.

All proceeds benefit the RISE center. Tickets for the preview night and silent auction, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, are $10, $15 at the door. A Golden Ticket for the Preview Party is $100; only 30 will be sold. The party features catering by Hoo’s Q, Pastor’s Kitchen, International Wines and Adams Beverages.

The sale is free from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

The RISE program, a part of the UA College of Human Environmental Sciences, serves children with special needs and their typically developing peers, from ages 8 weeks to 5 years. The children are divided by age among six classes, each with 16 students, one teacher and three assistants.
