Recipients of the 2008 Premier Awards – the top individual honors for scholarship, leadership and service at The University of Alabama – were announced by UA President Robert E. Witt on Friday, Feb. 29 at a recognition ceremony.

Dr. Gregory Thompson, assistant professor of metallurgical and materials engineering at The University of Alabama, was recently selected as a 2008 The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society Young Leaders International Scholar.
