Four outstanding educators were recently inducted into the The University of Alabama College of Education Educator Hall of Fame. The late Dr. Harold Bishop, Dr. Paul Hubbert, Jeanice Kirkland and Dr. Jayne Meyer were inducted as inaugural members of the Hall of Fame.
Dr. Bobby Wilson, a professor in the department of geography at The University of Alabama, has been named the recipient of the 2012 Presidential Achievement Award, given by the Association of American Geographers, for his career-long dedication to anti-racist scholarship in geography.
Michelle Hindman, a senior in chemical and biological engineering at The University of Alabama, was recognized for research presented through a poster at the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, or AIChE, 2012 annual meeting in Pittsburgh.
Artist Susan Nomberg McCollough of Gulf Shores, an alumna of the College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Alabama, has presented The University of Alabama with her original work, “Sella” to honor Alvin Sella, UA professor emeritus of art.
Dr. Yuebin Guo, a professor of mechanical engineering at The University of Alabama, was elected to be a Fellow by the International Society for Nanomanufacturing.
Dr. Bharat Balasubramanian, a professor and research center executive director in The University of Alabama College of Engineering, has been appointed to a prestigious post in the German scientific research community.
