UA’s Graduate School Calls for Last Lecture Nominations

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s Graduate School is accepting nominations for the seventh annual Last Lecture series.

The Last Lecture, to be on Monday, April 22, will feature a UA faculty member nominated and selected by students to answer one question in the form of a highly engaging lecture: “If this were your last time to address a group of students, what would you say to them?” Last year’s winner was Rick Bragg, professor of writing in The College of Communication and Information Sciences.

Nomination forms will be accepted until Wednesday, Feb. 13. Nominations can be submitted electronically at http://graduate.ua.edu/events/lastlecture.html. Paper copies are also available throughout the campus and at the Graduate School. A student committee comprised of graduate and undergraduate students will select the featured lecturer from nominated faculty. The winner will receive a cash award from the Graduate School and have the opportunity to present his or her lecture on April 22.
