UA Recycling Grows by 86 Percent

During fiscal year 2008-2009, UA collected 885.8 tons of recyclables, an increase of more than 86 percent over the previous record of 475 tons recycled in 2007-2008.

UA Seeks Feedback on Foster Auditorium Plaza Renovation

The University of Alabama is soliciting feedback from the community on the concept of a plaza at Foster Auditorium that will be designed to commemorate the events surrounding the “Stand in the Schoolhouse Door.” Faculty, staff, students and members of the community are invited to share their comments at open meetings on Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Monday, Nov. 30 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in room 127 of the Biology Building on campus.

UA Researchers Receive Grant to Study Stigma of AIDS in Rural America

UA Honors Donors of Limited-Edition Lithographs of Picasso Drawings

A reception marking the gift of 15 lithographs of drawings by the 20th century’s greatest artist, Pablo Picasso, to the art and art history department and The College of Arts and Sciences will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, in Gorgas Library at The University of Alabama. The reception is in honor of the donors of the lithographs, Dr. Virginia Rembert Liles, professor emeritus of art and art history, and Raeford Liles.
