UA Cason Award to Honor Columnist Rheta Grimsley Johnson

Rheta Grimsley Johnson, a novelist and nationally syndicated columnist, will receive the 2010 Clarence Cason Award in Nonfiction Writing from The University of Alabama College of Communication and Information Sciences Tuesday, March 9 at a dinner in her honor at the Hotel Capstone.

UA Supply Store Hosts Graduation Celebration

The University Supply Store will hold a Graduation Celebration on Wednesday and Thursday, March 24-25, at the Ferguson Center Plaza from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. each day. The event is a one-stop shopping and preparation venue for May graduates.

UA Ranks 10th in Enrollment of National Merit Scholars

The University of Alabama ranks 10th among more than 600 public universities nationwide in the enrollment of National Merit Scholars for 2009-2010 with 103 scholars in the fall 2009 freshman class. The ranking also places UA 24th among more than 2,400 universities when both public and private institutions are included.
