The University of Alabama has developed an action plan that provides a model to promote inclusion in the recruitment process for its Greek community. The model captures three years of focused effort, which began in fall 2013 and resulted in increasingly diverse new member sorority classes in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

UA Selects Incoming Freshmen for University Fellows Experience

The University Fellows Experience, housed in the Honors College at The University of Alabama, has selected 34 freshmen for the incoming Class of 2020. The Honors College selected these members from a pool of more than 660. The selected members represent 17 states.

UA Professor’s Work Wins ‘Best Film’ at Black Film Festival

University of Alabama theatre professor Seth Panitch’s first full, feature-length film, “Service to Man,” was awarded the grand jury prize for best film at the 20th American Black Film Festival Sunday.

The film was one of 25 selected to be showcased at the festival, which is the largest of its kind in the country. The festival is dedicated to bringing awareness of entertainment content made by and about people of African descent to a worldwide audience. The festival was held in Miami June 15-19.
