Children love to make things for their parents, especially during the holidays.
They feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in anything they make, and parents usually love whatever it is that they have worked so hard on.
The University of Alabama’s Amy Walker offers a few simple ideas that children can make for their parents this holiday season:
- Bookmarks
- Fill a plastic ornament with confetti, and let them decorate the outside of it
- Pine cone ornament for the birds using peanut butter and birdseed
- Pot Holder with their handprint
- Utility bag with their handprint on it to create a reindeer, wreath, Santa or other figures.
- Picture frame made from cardboard decorated with buttons, ribbon and just about anything you can find at home
- Craft stores and the Internet are great places to look for more gift ideas children can make.
