UA reminds fans of items not allowed in stadium
Tuscaloosa News – April 19
University of Alabama officials are reminding Crimson Tide fans who are planning to attend A-Day activities on Saturday that certain items cannot be brought into the stadium, including: A purse or tote bag bigger than an 8½-inch by 11-inch sheet of paper, outside food or drink, coolers, umbrellas, artificial noisemakers nor flags or banners on poles. These restrictions will be strictly enforced on A-Day, with no exceptions. Prohibited items should not be taken to the stadium, since there will be no place to leave or store the items at the gates. “Leaving prohibited items in your vehicle will make entering the stadium much quicker,” said Deborah Lane, associate vice president for University Relations. “As a result of the tragic events in Boston this week, we are being even more proactive about the safety and security of our fans, which is one of our highest priorities,” Lane said. “We know that our fans will work with us to make sure that this year’s A-Day Game is a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone.”

Senators Sessions & Cornyn: Do not stand in the way of immigration reform
Fox News Latino – April 18

…Alabama has learned firsthand what an extremist immigration law can bring, and it is still learning. HB56, Alabama anti-immigrant law, has chased out much of its undocumented population to the peril of its own farming industry as fruit rotted on the vine. An analysis from the University of Alabama states that HB 56 could ultimately cost Alabama as much as $11 billion in economic output, as much as $264.5 million in tax revenue, and as many as 70,000 to 140,000 jobs.
