Capstone Creed Week at UA Celebrates Integrity, Campus Values

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The 2009 Capstone Creed Week at The University of Alabama on Feb. 4-11 will be the fourth annual week of events dedicated to the ideals of the Capstone Creed.

The Capstone Creed, developed in 2000 by the Student Leader’s Council, is a reflection of the core values that sustain the UA community. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Crimson is Integrity: Celebrating the Capstone Creed.”

Each year, as part of this important week of events, the University honors individuals and/or organizations whose lives and contributions to life at the Capstone echo the values of the Creed. These honors come in the form of a special award called the “Capstone Hero” award. Nominations for this award are being accepted through Friday, Jan. 23 at 4 p.m.

For nomination forms and a full schedule of the week’s events, go online to http://leadership.ua.edu/. For more information on Capstone Heroes, contact Ashley Getwan at 205/427-4381 or aegetwan@bama.ua.edu or Corrie Harris, director of student involvement, at 205/348-6114 or charris@sa.ua.edu.
