UA Wheelchair Basketball Teams to Play Season Openers

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Women’s and Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Teams will open their seasons Saturday, Oct. 30,  playing in the second annual Eagle Classic Tournament at the Student Recreation Center.

The Alabama men’s and women’s teams will play a double header on Saturday, with the women’s game starting at 4:30 p.m. and the men’s game tipping off at 6 p.m.  Both teams will play against the Shepherd Stealers out of Atlanta.

Admission for all games is free.

Both the men’s and women’s teams will play 35 games during the regular season and then travel to the National Intercollegiate Championship in Arlington, Texas.

The defending national champion UA women’s team will be on road trips this season to the University of Texas at Arlington, University of Illinois and University of Wisconsin.  The women will also host the Wisconsin and Illinois teams on campus this season as well as play host to men’s club teams again this year.
