UA School of Law to Host Regional Tournament

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama School of Law will host the southeast regional tournament of the National Moot Court Competition Nov. 11-14 in Tuscaloosa.

The National Moot Court Competition is an inter-law school appellate moot court competition sponsored by the Young Lawyers Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the American College of Trial Lawyers. The goal of the competition is to develop the art of appellate advocacy.

There are 14 regional competitions within the United States. Teams that qualify in the regional rounds are eligible to enter final competition. In addition to Alabama, teams from the University of Tennessee, University of Mississippi, Mississippi College, Tulane, Louisiana State, Loyola, Vanderbilt, Southern University, the University of Memphis, and Cumberland School of Law will compete. The University of Alabama team won the Southeast region last year and also received the best brief award.
