TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Julie A. Brand of Cullman received a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business administration from The University of Alabama during spring commencement exercises.
The University awarded some 2,467 degrees at spring commencement ceremonies held in May at Coleman Coliseum on the Tuscaloosa campus.
With the addition of this graduating class, UA has awarded more than 185,000 degrees since it was founded in 1831 as the state’s first public university. UA holds commencement ceremonies three times a year.
Ransom Wilson, internationally renowned flutist and conductor, gave the commencement address. Wilson is a professor of flute at Yale University and received the honorary doctoral degree from UA.
