Ceremony to introduce free Wi-Fi to the Strip

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. to introduce free Wi-Fi on the Strip…The program, called Tide-Fi, is a joint effort between the University of Alabama, AT&T, the city of Tuscaloosa and the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama. The Tide-Fi initiative began as a way to promote economic development of the Strip area and provide an alternative learning environment for students…The chamber’s technology council created and developed the program, with the help of UA students.

Horgan discusses philosophy of mind

Terry Horgan, a professor in philosophy from the University of Arizona, gave a colloquium titled “Mind and Brain: Philosophy of Mind in the 21st Century” for the philosophy department in Smith Hall Tuesday night. The lecture was a part of the third annual “Philosophy Today” lectures series headed by the philosophy department.
