A Masterclass with Author Ander Monson

The UA English Department’s Creative Writing Program celebrates author Ander Monson. Monson is the author of “Predator: A Memoir, A Movie, An Obsession” and eight previous books. The renowned author will provide a free one-hour masterclass on writing. This event open to the public.

Fall Festival at Jeremiah’s Garden
Saturday, Oct. 26, 2-6 p.m. at Jeremiah’s Community Garden, 606 James I Harrison Jr Pkwy
This fundraising event benefits Jeremiah’s Garden, a peaceful community garden that provides 10,000 pounds of fresh produce to those in need. The garden is completely run by volunteers.
The Garden also needs student volunteers on Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. Transportation provided! After signing up, volunteers meet at the Center for Service and Leadership in the Student Center and take a van to the garden.

Moundville Native American Festival
Thursday, Oct. 3 – Sat, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Mound State Monument Museum, 1499 Mound State Parkway, Moundville
The annual Moundville Native American Festival never fails to be a hit. Meet Native American artists at this centuries-old city. Hear traditional stories and music. Experience the beauty of traditional dances while supporting local and Native American businesses.
Admission is $10 for adults, students and seniors. Tickets are only available for purchase at the event.

The 53rd annual festival brings more than 270 visual artists, live music, spoken word, children’s activities and craft demonstrations to a new location.

Support the Arc of Tuscaloosa at the seventh annual Witches Ride, a whimsical event that raises funds for the organization, which 300+ individuals in the community. This witchy night is not so spooky, providing music, food trucks, a raffle, a silent auction, bouncy houses, games and an art project for kids.
