Walking across that stage in Coleman Coliseum in a few short days is a bittersweet thought. But don’t worry. Here’s a short list of both important and fun things you should be sure to do before you leave Tuscaloosa.
Buy a commemorative ACT Card.
Want an official keepsake from your time at the Capstone? Get an official commemorative card featuring your ACT Card photo, name and graduation term. This keepsake is only available to graduates of The University of Alabama, and you must have applied to graduate for the current term to receive one. Order your commemorative card for $50 online by May 31.
Visit the Arboretum.
If you need a break from writing final papers or studying for exams, The University of Alabama Arboretum is a perfect place to unwind and take in this 60-acre preserve. Consisting of hiking trails filled with a mix of wildflowers, native woodland and ornamental plants, the arboretum is a great place to slow down and take in your last few moments in Tuscaloosa.
Transfer or refill prescriptions at the Student Health Center.
If you have an ongoing prescription that you’ll need to get refilled at your home pharmacy, make sure to make those changes before you leave! You can also request any medical records you need for future doctor visits. The Student Health Center can be reached at 205-348-2778.
Explore the Paul Bryant Museum.
The Paul W. Bryant Museum exhibits artifacts and various pieces of memorabilia related to the history of football at The University of Alabama. With an emphasis placed on Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant, this museum is a must-see for football fans and non-football fans alike. Admission for students, faculty and staff is free.
Make sure you have your graduation regalia from the SupeStore.
Perhaps the most important thing you must do before graduation is purchase your regalia. Gowns, mortarboards, stoles and more can be purchased at the SupeStore located in The University of Alabama Student Center. Graduates can also purchase graduation announcements, diploma frames and class rings to commemorate their time at the Capstone.
