TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama has awarded 20 tuition-only scholarships of $2,500 each through the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program.

These scholarships are made possible by a $50,000 grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation. The program assists students who have experienced a five-year or more interruption in their education and want to resume their undergraduate studies to complete their degrees.

“The Bernard Osher Foundation is delighted to continue supporting scholarships for re-entry students at The University of Alabama,” said Mary Bitterman, president of the foundation. “The University of Alabama has established services to meet the needs of adult students. We hope our contribution will further the University’s success in re-entering students and helping them to complete their degrees.”

The College of Continuing Studies at UA administers the scholarships. They are intended to benefit students, University-wide, who have a considerable number of employable years in their future.
