TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Stewart Welch, owner of The Welch Group, a comprehensive financial planning firm in Birmingham, will serve as an executive-in-residence Thursday, March 17 for the College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama.
Welch will give a public lecture, “Personal Income Tax Management Strategies” at 2 p.m. in 104 Doster Hall on the UA campus.
A UA alumnus, Welch has been named as one of the top financial advisers in the United States by Money, Worth, Mutual Funds Magazine and Medical Economics. He has appeared on various TV and radio shows, including the Fox News Network and CNBC, and is often quoted in the national press including the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Money and The Street.com.
The Welch Group, which specializes in providing fee-only wealth management services to healthcare professionals and retirees throughout the United States, has been recognized as one of the top 150 wealth management firms in the country by Bloomberg Wealth Manager.
Welch serves as a member of the board of governors for Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. and has served on the Charles Schwab & Co. institutional advisory board, and as president of his local chapters of the Institute of Certified Financial Planners and International Association for Financial Planning.
The College of Human Environmental Sciences at The University of Alabama, established in 1917, offers degree programs in apparel and textile, athletic training, consumer sciences, early childhood development, financial planning and counseling, food and nutrition, family and consumer science education, health studies, human development and family studies and interior design.
