Parking and Road Changes April 11-19

Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium will serve as the venue for a concert April 18.

  • Parking operations across campus will be adjusted on April 11 and April 13-19 for event setup.
  • Several road closures will also take place Saturday, April 18. 

Parking Changes 

UA parking lots on the north and west sides of the stadium will close following the A-Day Alabama football spring practice April 11 to allow for infrastructure staging.  

Additional campus lots will close at 8 p.m., Friday, April 17, and reopen at 1 p.m., April 18, for concert permit holders. 

Normal campus parking operations will resume Sunday, April 19, except for areas immediately surrounding the stadium. 

Departments planning events that require parking accommodations during this period should coordinate with Transportation Services in advance by contacting uapark@ua.edu or 205-348-5471. 

Road Closures April 18 

Several road closures will be in effect near the stadium during event setup and operations, including portions of University Boulevard, Bryant Drive and surrounding campus streets. 

Closures will begin at noon Saturday, April 18, and are expected to reopen once public safety personnel determine the roads are safe for travel. Drivers should plan for increased traffic, use alternate routes and follow posted detour signage. 

  • University Boulevard closed from Stadium Drive to Campus Drive West/Frank Thomas Avenue 
  • Colonial Drive and Wallace Wade Avenue – closed from University Boulevard to Bryant Drive 
  • 6th Street closed just west of Wallace Wade Avenue 
  • 8th Street closed from Frank Thomas Avenue to Wallace Wade Avenue 
  • Bryant Drive closed from Frank Thomas Avenue to 8th Avenue 
  • 10th Avenue closed from 12th Street to Bryant Drive 
  • 6th Avenue closed from University Boulevard to Bryant Drive 

Some sidewalks near the north end of Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium along University Boulevard will also be temporarily closed, and pedestrians should follow posted detour signage.
