Crimson Ride Apartment Routes Revised Based on Feedback

As of Monday, Sept. 8, apartment shuttle routes have returned to timed schedules with the on-campus drop-off point being Smithwood Drive at the Transportation Hub Deck. Schedules will follow the same times used last academic year.

This change comes after feedback was brought forward by the Student Government Association, Graduate Student Association, The Crimson White and others.

“We are committed to continuously evaluating Crimson Ride and welcome all feedback,” said Chris D’Esposito, assistant vice president for UA Enterprise Services, which includes Crimson Ride. “In this case, we heard that the change to the apartment routes was a significant issue for many students, so we listened.”

“Student input is always valued and considered as we assess and refine our transit services. We encourage ongoing feedback and involvement through the SGA and the Parking and Transportation Committee,” he added.

Additionally, Smithwood Drive will no longer be available for ParkMobile parking as the shuttles will resume using this area. Students may continue to pay for parking in the red ParkMobile spaces around the Transportation Hub Deck. To park inside the deck, payment must be made with a credit card or Bama Cash. Pricing is the same for both areas.
