5 Things to Know About the New Employee Assistance Program

At the beginning of the year, the University moved to a new behavioral health care organization, GuidanceResources by ComPsych, to provide an enhanced EAP that offers access to professionally trained counselors and resources for coping more effectively with a variety of life challenges.

Here are five things to know about the new EAP.

1. Registration

The EAP is provided at no cost to all benefit-eligible employees and their dependents. Employees can register online at GuidanceResources or download the free GuidanceNow app. Enter UAS as the Organization Web ID.

2. Services Offered

  • Five counseling sessions per person per issue per year for emotional support.
  • Work and lifestyle support.
  • Legal guidance with unlimited, 30-minute phone calls.
  • Unlimited 30-minute phone calls with financial experts to provide guidance on specific money situations, or general financial guidance.
  • Computerized cognitive behavioral therapy, CCBT, offers individualized experiences through interactive programs, skill-building tools and inspiration resources based on your specific goals.
  • Online resources to articles, podcasts, videos, on-demand trainings and online communities.

3. Confidentiality

EAP services are always confidential. Information regarding you and your counseling sessions is not released to your supervisor and will not be made a part of your personnel file.

4. Availability

The program is staffed by highly trained, caring clinicians who are available online or by phone at 1-888-283-3515, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
