Realizing the Dream 

“Realizing the Dream Through Vision and Leadership” is the focus of this year’s Realizing the Dream celebration and was selected by a committee of representatives from Shelton State Community College, Stillman College, the Tuscaloosa chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and The University of Alabama. Realizing the Dream events are set to begin Friday. 

Research and Innovation 

A new institute at The University of Alabama will boost efforts from across campus in materials science and materials engineering. The Alabama Materials Institute recognizes the University’s established reputation at the forefront of materials-centric activities, crossing multiple departments and colleges. 

Alumni Support 

Jimmy E. Warren has been named associate vice president for Alumni Affairs at UA and executive director of the National Alumni Association. Warren brings decades of professional experience and extensive University service to his role at the association.
