The University of Alabama Adapted Athletics program is home to eight student-athletes hoping to compete in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris Aug. 28-Sept. 8.

Wheelchair basketball student-athletes have training camps in January and February to determine teams, but final rosters won’t be announced until May.

“The success of our Paralympic student-athletes and coaches is a point of pride for the University and the Adapted Athletics program. Many people do not realize the huge footprint Alabama has internationally at World Championships and the Paralympic Games,” said Dr. Brent Hardin, director, Adapted Athletics.

“In the last four Paralympics, we have had over 20 current and former student-athletes each year. We anticipate having even more in Paris 2024 now that we have added para track and field to our program.”
