Two UA students placed in the Top 5 at the Miss Alabama pageant held June 28 through July 1. Ibby Dickson was named second runner-up and Hannah Adams was named third runner-up during the final night of competition.
Their placement in the Top 5 earned Dickson and Adams a $3,000 and $2,500 scholarship, respectively. During the competition, Dickson was named a finalist for the Catherine Crosby Community Service Scholarship.
Adams was the winner of the Catherine Crosby Community Service Scholarship award, earning a $3,000 scholarship, and the evening gown winner in the Friday night preliminary, earning her an additional $300 scholarship.
Adams, a Birmingham native, is majoring in both political science and public relations. Dickson, of Sylacauga, graduated from UA in May and majored in both news media and political science.
Dickson, the current Miss University of Alabama, will continue her reign until October 7 when a new Miss UA will be crowned.
