The University of Alabama Police Department will join other law enforcement agencies and first responders for National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 1, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Annette Shelby Park, 1614 15th St., Tuscaloosa.
National Night Out has been promoting partnerships between the community and law enforcement and providing an opportunity for police and citizens to get together under positive circumstances since 1984.
Community members will have the chance to see police cars, motorcycles, armored response vehicles, fire trucks and more. There will be equipment displays and K9 demonstrations and kids will have the chance to meet McGruff the Crime Dog. Food will be available.
In addition to UAPD, the Tuscaloosa and Northport Police, Stillman Police, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue, Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Alabama Game and Fish Division and other agencies will participate.
