What’s Open, What’s Closed Thanksgiving Week

For students, Thanksgiving break begins with dismissal of classes Monday, Nov. 21. UA offices will be open Monday, Nov. 21, through Wednesday, Nov. 23, and closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25.  

Some campus services and facilities will have special hours during the break.

The following will be open regular hours Nov. 21-23, and closed Nov. 24-25.  

  • Campus Mail Services  
  • Counseling Center  
  • Collegiate Recovery and Intervention Services  
  • IT Service Desk  
  • Student Health Center and Pharmacy 
  • University Medical Center


The following will be closed or operate with limited hours during the break.  

Bama Dining  

Crimson Ride

  • Reduced service runs 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 21, through Wednesday, Nov. 23. Campus coverage will be with the new circulator route.
  • Apartment shuttles will have buses on standby; students should call 205-348-7433 to ride to the Crimson Ride Hub.
  • There is no campus service Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 24-27.
  • Game day service runs Saturday, Nov. 26, for the Alabama-Auburn game.
  • Regular service resumes Monday, Nov. 28, at 7 a.m. 


  • Residential students can leave their cars in any parking deck that corresponds to their parking zone. 
  • Commuter students wishing to leave their vehicles on campus should park in the Upper Recreation Center Lot only. 

Supe Stores

All three Supe Store locations will be closed Thanksgiving Day. Check the website for days and hours of operation for the rest of Thanksgiving weekend.


  • Gorgas, Bruno, McLure and Rodgers libraries will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 21-23 and closed Nov. 24-26. 
  • Hoole Special Collections will close at 4:45 p.m. and remain closed Nov. 24-25. 

University Recreation 

  • Membership Office will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 23-Friday, Nov. 25.  
  • Witt Activity Center will be closed from 5 p.m. Nov. 18 to 7 a.m. Nov. 28.  
  • Aquatic Center will be closed Nov. 19–27.  
  • Student Recreation Center will operate 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 21-23, and close Nov. 24-26. 

Art Galleries 

  • Sella-Granata Art Gallery is closed and will reopen Dec. 6-9.  
  • Sarah Moody Gallery of Art will close at noon Wednesday, Nov. 23, and reopen 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28.  
  • Paul. R. Jones Museum will close Nov. 22-26.  
  • UA Gallery will close Nov. 22-26.  


  • The Paul “Bear” Bryant Museum, Moundville Archaeological Park and Mildred Westervelt Warner Museum will all close Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, and reopen Friday, Nov. 25.
  •  The Alabama Museum of Natural History and the Gorgas House will close Nov. 24-27.
