The Million Dollar Band is tuning up; the cheerleaders are practicing their stunts; Big Al is picking out his best jersey; and the Crimson Tide is putting the finishing touches on their game plan. It’s almost game day at The University of Alabama.
Here is what you need to know for the 2022 home football season.
Prior to the Game
Prepare to make the most of your game day experience by reviewing the football game day information on RollTide.com, downloading the UA Gameday App and following UA Gameday on Twitter.
On your way to campus, tune your radio to 92.5 FM UA Info Radio. In addition to traffic, parking and weather information, you will also learn about UA traditions, former players and coaches, game day events, and hear some of your favorite stadium tunes from the Million Dollar Band. You can also stream the station through the UA Safety app.
Visit the Paul W. Bryant Museum from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on game days to relive the pageantry of past football seasons. Visit the museum’s Facebook page to see when former players will be signing autographs before each home game. Admission to the museum is free for UA faculty, staff and students.
The Coca-Cola Kick-off Zone, located between Reese-Phifer Hall and the Walk of Champions, will open four hours before kickoff for all home games. It will include activities for children, corporate displays and food vendors.
Prior to all home SEC games, the Crimson Tide Sports Network Fan Zone, located behind Tuska, will include the pregame radio show, interactive displays, former player appearances, autographs and more.
Parking
Faculty and staff who have a valid UA Faculty/Staff parking permit can park in the Performing Arts Center parking lot located on Peter Bryce Boulevard on game days.
Students with a valid UA parking permit can park in certain designated on-campus areas on game days. View the student parking map on the UA Gameday website.
Parking for the public is available for purchase on the UA Gameday website or through the UA Gameday app.
Tailgating
You can tailgate for free on the west side of the Quad and reservations are not required. Check the tailgating section of the UA Gameday website for the times you can drop off your supplies and for a list of tailgating rules.
Several food trucks will be around the Quad this season for you to enjoy. The kids can have fun playing on inflatables, which will be located on the southeast corner of the Quad.
Two hours prior to kickoff, gather at the Walk of Champions on the north end of Bryant-Denny Stadium to welcome the team as they walk from the buses to the locker room.
One hour prior to kickoff, join the Million Dollar Band on the steps of the Gorgas Library for the Elephant Stomp to Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Get Your Bama Gear
On game day, visit the Supe Store at The University of Alabama Student Center, the Corner Store or the Town Center location for Bama apparel and game day souvenirs.
The Authentic retail shop will open later this season inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. The one-of-a-kind shop powered by Fanatics will feature an assortment of officially licensed team apparel and student-athlete NIL merchandise, memorabilia used during previous games, and digital trading cards from Topps.
Getting into the stadium
Alabama Athletics has transitioned to mobile-only ticketing for all athletic venues.
Students will use their ACT Card to get into games for which they have tickets. Be sure to check your ticket balance and upper or lower bowl assignment prior to game day by logging in to myBama or using UA’s mobile app. Learn more about student tickets on the My Tickets website.
For faculty, staff and other fans, football tickets should be downloaded to your Apple Wallet or Google Pay Wallet prior to reaching your gate at the stadium. Those that do not have a smartphone should contact the Ticket Office before game day at 205-348-2262 or ticketoffice@ia.ua.edu.
The clear-bag policy will still be enforced this season. Bags must be made of clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and cannot exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches. Small clutch purses no larger than 4½ inches by 6 ½ inches are also permissible.
Fans will also be required to walk through metal detectors before entering Bryant-Denny Stadium.
While outside food and beverages are not allowed, fans may bring empty, non-glass bottles and cups that they can fill for free at Water Monsters, which are large tanks filled with cold, filtered water, located throughout the stadium. A list of prohibited items can be found on RollTide.com.
This year, all sales at concessions and retail shops at Alabama athletics events will be cashless. Guests with cash will have the ability to exchange their cash for a Fancard, which is a preloaded Mastercard. Fancards can be used at stadium concessions or anywhere Mastercard is accepted.
