Five Reasons You Should Participate in Weeks of Welcome

As the new academic year approaches, the UA Division of Student Life’s University Programs hosts its annual Weeks of Welcome, a series of programs designed to help first year and transfer students in their transition to academic and student life.

Paige Acker, director of University Programs, provided the top five reasons why students should participate in Weeks of Welcome events that kick off Aug. 14.

1. Build Community on UA’s Campus

Weeks of Welcome is a great time to meet new people and make connections that can last a lifetime. Although campus can seem large at first, you can start to build relationships when attending various events.

2. Learn About Resources Available

During Weeks of Welcome, we have a variety of open houses and events that showcase the resources and services available to students at UA. You will also get to see how these different departments collaborate to create the UA student experience.

3. Get to Know UA Administrators

At various events during Weeks of Welcome, you’ll hear from and meet a variety of University administrators. These staff members are here to serve you and help you create a legendary experience.

4. Find Ways to Get Involved

Throughout Weeks of Welcome, you’ll have the chance to meet and learn about numerous student organizations and find the best group that fits your interests. Get On Board Day is a huge event that will showcase what these organizations have to offer.

5. Have Fun!

We want all UA students to feel welcome and included and have fun while attending our events. We want to start your semester off with a month to remember!
